1How old do I need to be to get my own medicare card? And how do I get one?
You need to be 14 years old or over.
Getting a medicare card is quite simple, follow these steps:
You will first need to enrol (you can get an enrolment form online at www.medicareaustralia.gov.au )
When you enrol, you need to show original or certified copies of documents such as a birth certificate or passport to prove that you are eligible.
Please call Medicare to check what documents you need 13 20 11Then lodge your enrolment at your nearest Medicare office.
