    You need to be 14 years old or over.

    Getting a medicare card is quite simple, follow these steps:

    You will first need to enrol (you can get an enrolment form online at www.medicareaustralia.gov.au )

    When you enrol, you need to show original or certified copies of documents such as a birth certificate or passport to prove that you are eligible.
    Please call Medicare to check what documents you need 13 20 11

    Then lodge your enrolment at your nearest Medicare office.
